Eyebrow Extensions Aftercare
Eyebrow extensions is relatively new service in the market, however, its popularity has been increasing rapidly in recent years. Eyebrow extensions usually last 10-14 days when applied “ hair to hair” and from several days to a week when applied directly on skin. Proper aftercare is a crucial factor that determines longevity of eyebrow extensions. It is very important to follow these guidelines as it will prolong the attachment of eyebrow extensions:
-
- Do not wet your eyebrows for at least 12 hours after application.
- After 48 hours it is ok to wet the eyebrows, however, it is very important to use oil free makeup and makeup removers. Many cosmetic brands contain chemicals and oils that may dissolve the adhesion. Always use oil free makeup and makeup removers when you have eyebrow extensions.
- Do not rub or use scrub at the area around the brows. By rubbing or scrubbing we can accidentally pull the extension with the natural brow, therefore, create damage to the natural eyebrows.
- Avoid extreme variations of heat and humidity ( use of sauna ), swimming after at least 24 hours can be resumed.
- Be careful when changing clothes. Try not to touch your brows when you wear clothes that go over your head.
- Do not use cotton. Try to avoid cotton makeup remover pads and cotton balls as parts of it might stay on the brow.
- Do not brush the eyebrow extensions when they are wet. Water adds extra weight to hair, when brushing brows wet you might accidentally pull them.
- Never attempt to remove eyebrow extensions or add more hairs by yourself, you are likely to damage your natural brow hairs or glue them together.
- Please remember that natural eyebrow cycle is 4 to 12 weeks, it is absolutely normal for natural eyebrows to fall out at the end of their cycle. It allows new hairs to grow in their place. Most eyebrow extensions can last through entire cycle of the natural eyebrow hairs if the above guidelines are followed. Eyebrow extensions are absolutely safe when applied by licensed and trained professional.
